The next Canton Fair, the 141st session, is expected in spring 2027 in three phases: 15-19 April, 23-27 April and 1-5 May. These dates are provisional: on 2 November 2026 the organizer had not published them yet, so confirm them on the official Canton Fair site before booking flights or hotels. Start with the products you want to investigate, register through official buyer channels, then build your meeting and transport schedule.

The autumn 2026 dates (140th session, ending on 4 November 2026) were checked on the Canton Fair website and in the organizer's 2026 attendance guide. The spring 2027 dates come from listing sites cited at the end of this article, which repeat the days of the spring 2026 session. This guide helps you prepare a buying trip to Guangzhou; it does not promise suitable suppliers or successful orders.

Match your products to a phase

These examples follow the 140th-session sector list published by China's Ministry of Commerce:

PhaseSpring 2027, 141st (provisional)Autumn 2026, 140thExample sectors (140th list)
115-19 April15-19 OctoberElectronics, machinery, electrical equipment
223-27 April23-27 OctoberFurniture, housewares, gifts
31-5 May31 October-4 NovemberClothing, textiles, toys

Look up your exact product and confirm the booth before booking. Electrical appliances and other household goods should not be grouped together simply because both are used at home. If your products span phases, budget for the intervening days and confirm supplier availability separately. Do not assume exhibition stands remain open during the gaps.

Register through the official buyer system

Start at the official Buyer Service System. The 140th-session registration guide covers account access, personal and company details, email verification and the Overseas Buyer Badge application. Check the status after submitting.

Review names and document numbers carefully. For collection, prepare your valid original passport, business card and registration QR receipt, following the 26 September 2026 badge guide. Check the officially listed collection point and opening times against your arrival. Do not assume every hotel issues badges.

Keep control of your account and confirmations. Ask the organizer which access requirements apply to your interpreter or other accompanying person before confirming work inside the halls. Booking language support does not guarantee event accreditation.

An invitation is not a visa

The Canton Fair Hong Kong office describes the invitation as a document used to apply for a Chinese visa. It does not replace a visa or guarantee approval. Check requirements for your passport and purpose of travel with the relevant consular authority before committing to non-refundable arrangements.

Build the meeting plan before travelling

Separate priority suppliers from businesses you would like to explore if time permits. A practical preparation sequence is:

  1. Record the company, product, hall and booth number.
  2. Request an appointment with someone able to answer your product questions.
  3. Group nearby meetings, allowing for walking and breaks.
  4. Share catalogues, terminology and objectives with your interpreter.
  5. Reserve time each evening to compare information and arrange follow-up.

Give each appointment a concrete objective: obtain a sample proposal, receive a comparable quotation or clarify a specification. Leave enough space in the schedule to write notes while the discussion is still fresh.

Ask purchasing questions you can compare

Use the same question sheet across your shortlisted booths:

  • Does this company manufacture the product or resell it?
  • What minimum quantity applies to each model, colour and packaging option?
  • Which specifications and currency does the price cover, and what is included?
  • How long does sample preparation take, who pays and can samples be revised?
  • What starts the proposed production or delivery timeline?
  • Can the supplier provide written product documents, a quotation and warranty terms?

Record the speaker's name and date alongside each answer. Supplier statements still need evaluation. Language support helps the conversation; it does not replace inspection, commercial judgment or the buyer's decision.

Plan transport and check your documents

Choose accommodation by the route to your actual meeting entrance, as well as the room itself. Save the Chinese addresses of your hotel and exhibition venue. For a driver, agree on the pickup point, luggage, waiting arrangements and what happens if a meeting overruns. Use the Guangzhou guide for time outside business appointments.

Before departure, review entry documents, badge paperwork, appointment confirmations, booth details, product material, communication arrangements and backup charging. Assign responsibility for the schedule, expenses and unanswered questions so the group knows who is following up.

Discuss support with True China Experience

Quỳnh Nguyễn lives in Chaoyang, Beijing, and speaks Vietnamese, English and Mandarin, not French. Existing services for 1-8 people include accommodation arrangements, drivers, airport pickup, SIM support and language assistance for meetings and purchases.

A Canton Fair assignment is reviewed against its brief and availability. It does not imply previous experience at this fair or existing accreditation. Read about Quỳnh and the interpreting preparation guide, then request a quote. Include dates, products, group size and working hours. Confirm the assignment fee, travel from Beijing and hotel expenses in the proposal.
